An expat of San Francisco, I'm now living and working in Busan, Korea. I am a full-time visiting professor of sound studies for the Digital Contents department of KyungSung University. I teach three courses in sound for digital media.
When not teaching, I do a variety of school and non-school activities. I work collaboratively with students on animation projects; I lead a small 'sound club' designed to help students learn more about the art and business of sound; I'm sculpting my masters thesis into something digestible for an upcoming conference in Germany; I'm doing a bit of drumming at various clubs in Busan; and I'm discovering the wonders of soju.
Previously, I've worked as a university instructor at SFSU, a sound editor/designer for a San Francisco based media production company, a freelance sound designer for independent films, a freelance writer for various music and audio magazines, and a professional drummer.
Thanks for visiting. While this site is no feat of ingenious web design, one benefit is that you'll never have to endure me pretending to talk about myself in the third person.
